دكتور مارتن لوثر كينغ جونيور كان قائدًا حقوقيًا بارزًا ومؤثرًا في حركة الحقوق المدنية الأمريكية. وُلِد في 15 يناير 1929، في أتلانتا، جورجيا، وبدأ مسيرته كواعظ في كنيسة أبيه، وكانت رسالته متجذرة في مبادئ اللاعنف والمقاومة السلمية.
من أبرز إنجازاته هي تنظيمه لمسيرة واشنطن في 1963، حيث ألقى خطابه الشهير “لدي حلم”. في هذا الخطاب، شارك كينغ رؤيته لأمة يتم فيها تقييم الناس بناءً على شخصياتهم وليس لون بشرتهم. هذه اللحظة ألهمت الملايين وحفزت على تغييرات سياسية واجتماعية كبرى.
أمضى كينغ حياته في مكافحة الظلم والفقر والعنصرية. قدم تضحيات كبيرة من أجل قضيته، بما في ذلك الاعتقالات العديدة والتعرض للعنف. في 1964، حصل على جائزة نوبل للسلام تقديرًا لجهوده في تحقيق المساواة والعدالة.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a prominent and influential leader in the American civil rights movement. Born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, he began his career as a preacher at his father’s church, with his message deeply rooted in the principles of nonviolence and peaceful resistance.
One of his most significant achievements was organizing the March on Washington in 1963, where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. In this speech, King shared his vision of a nation where people would be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. This moment inspired millions and spurred significant political and social changes.
King dedicated his life to fighting injustice, poverty, and racism. He made great sacrifices for his cause, including numerous arrests and exposure to violence. In 1964, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his efforts to achieve equality and justice.
Sadly, King’s life came to a tragic end when he was assassinated on April 4, 1968. However, his legacy lives on through the laws and policies he helped change, as well as through the inspiration he continues to provide to new generations.
