Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, is a controversial figure in global politics. Born on October 21, 1949, in Tel Aviv, he began his career as a soldier in the elite “Sayeret Matkal” unit of the Israeli army. He later studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and held several diplomatic positions before entering the political arena.
Netanyahu first became Prime Minister in 1996, then returned to the position in 2009 and served until 2021, and once again in 2022. He is the longest-serving Prime Minister in Israel’s history. During his tenure, Israel has experienced numerous significant events, including conflicts with Palestinians, the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, and tensions with Iran.
Recently, Netanyahu has been at the center of negotiations with Hamas regarding a ceasefire in Gaza. These negotiations have been complex and involved interventions from several international parties, including the United States, Qatar, and Egypt.
