مبارك الكبير (1837-1915) كان أحد حكام الكويت البارزين، حيث تولى الحكم في الفترة من 1896 إلى 1915. يُعرف أيضًا باسم مبارك الصباح أو مبارك بن صباح بن جابر الصباح. ولد مبارك الكبير في الكويت، ونشأ في بيئة عسكرية، مما أعده لدوره كزعيم قوي. أحد أهم إنجازاته كان توقيع اتفاقية الحماية مع بريطانيا عام 1899، التي منحت الكويت الحماية ضد أي اعتداء خارجي وفي الوقت نفسه حافظت على استقلالها الداخلي.
تحت حكمه، بدأت الكويت في النمو والتطور اقتصاديًا بفضل الدعم البريطاني وبسبب موقعها الاستراتيجي كحلقة وصل بين الشرق والغرب. مبارك الكبير هو المؤسس الحقيقي لدولة الكويت الحديثة، ورغم التحديات الداخلية والخارجية التي واجهها، فقد استطاع بحكمته وشجاعته أن يحافظ على استقرار الكويت وازدهارها. توفي مبارك الكبير في عام 1915، لكنه لا يزال يُعتبر رمزًا للقيادة والحكمة في تاريخ الكويت.

Mubarak the Great
Mubarak the Great (1837-1915) was one of the prominent rulers of Kuwait, serving from 1896 to 1915. Also known as Mubarak Al-Sabah or Mubarak bin Sabah bin Jaber Al-Sabah, he was born in Kuwait and raised in a military environment, which prepared him for his role as a strong leader. One of his most significant achievements was signing the protection agreement with Britain in 1899, which granted Kuwait protection against external aggression while maintaining its internal independence.
Under his rule, Kuwait began to grow and develop economically, thanks to British support and its strategic location as a link between the East and the West. Mubarak the Great is considered the true founder of modern Kuwait. Despite facing internal and external challenges, he managed with his wisdom and courage to maintain Kuwait’s stability and prosperity. He passed away in 1915 but remains a symbol of leadership and wisdom in Kuwait’s history.
