العام الصيني الجديد أو كما يُعرف بعيد الربيع هو واحد من أكثر الأعياد حيوية واحتفالًا في العالم. هذا الحدث السنوي الذي يمتد لأسبوعين تقريبًا مليء بالألوان والرموز والتقاليد التي تتجاوز الأجيال. يُعتقد أن هذا العيد له جذور تمتد لأكثر من 4,000 سنة.
في اليوم الأول من العام الصيني الجديد، تتزين الشوارع بالفوانيس الحمراء المتوهجة والديكورات الزهرية، بينما تُضاء الألعاب النارية في السماء للاحتفال بطرد الأرواح الشريرة واستقبال السنة الجديدة بأمل وتفاؤل. تُعتبر التنانين والليو ين (ألعاب الأسد) من أبرز العروض التي تُقام في هذا العيد، حيث يتم تأديتها بمهارة واحترافية تنشر البهجة في نفوس الجميع.
الطعام يلعب دوراً هاماً في هذا الاحتفال. يتم تحضير الأطباق التقليدية مثل الدمبلينغ، الذي يُعتقد أنه يجلب الحظ والازدهار، والأسماك التي ترمز إلى الوفرة. كل طبق يحمل معاني خاصة ويعكس الرغبات الجيدة للسنة الجديدة.
أحد أبرز جوانب العام الصيني الجديد هو اجتماع العائلات. يعود الأفراد من مختلف بقاع الأرض للالتقاء وتبادل الهدايا والمشاركة في الاحتفالات. “العيد” هو الوقت الذي يُخصص للأسرة، حيث يجتمع الجميع لتناول العشاء الاحتفالي وتبادل ال”لي سي”، وهو مغلف أحمر يحتوي على المال ويُعتبر جالبًا للحظ.
ومن المثير للاهتمام أن الأبراج الصينية تلعب دوراً في تحديد التوقعات للسنة الجديدة. كل عام يرتبط بحيوان معين مثل التنين، النمر، أو الأفعى، وكل حيوان يحمل سمات وتوقعات مختلفة للمستقبل.

It is believed that this festival has roots extending over 4,000 years.
On the first day of the Chinese New Year, streets are adorned with glowing red lanterns and floral decorations, while fireworks light up the sky to celebrate the driving away of evil spirits and welcoming the New Year with hope and optimism. The dragon and lion dances are among the most prominent performances, executed with skill and professionalism, spreading joy to everyone.
Food plays a significant role in this celebration. Traditional dishes like dumplings, believed to bring luck and prosperity, and fish, which symbolizes abundance, are prepared. Each dish carries special meanings and reflects good wishes for the new year.
One of the most notable aspects of the Chinese New Year is family reunions. Individuals return from various parts of the world to gather, exchange gifts, and participate in celebrations. The festival is a time dedicated to family, where everyone comes together for a festive dinner and exchanges “lai see”, a red envelope containing money, which is considered to bring good luck.
Interestingly, the Chinese zodiac plays a role in setting expectations for the new year. Each year is associated with a particular animal, such as the dragon, tiger, or snake, and each animal carries different traits and predictions for the future.
