الواقع الافتراضي، أو VR، هو تقنية تحول الخيال إلى واقع. تخيل أنك تضع نظارة خاصة على عينيك وتجد نفسك فجأة في عالم آخر – قد تكون تمشي على سطح المريخ، أو تقاتل في معركة فضائية، أو تستكشف أعماق المحيط. كل هذه التجارب قد تبدو وكأنها حلم، لكنها ممكنة الآن بفضل الواقع الافتراضي.
تستخدم هذه التقنية نظارات خاصة تقوم بعرض صور ثلاثية الأبعاد تُحيط بك من كل جانب، مع سماعات تعطيك صوتًا محيطيًا يغمر حواسك، بالإضافة إلى أجهزة تحكم تتيح لك التفاعل مع هذا العالم الرقمي كما لو كنت فيه بالفعل.
