مالكوم إكس، واحد من أبرز الشخصيات التي غيرت مسار الحقوق المدنية في الولايات المتحدة، وُلِدَ باسم مالكوم ليتل في عام 1925. كان والده ناشطًا حقوقيًا قُتِلَ بسبب مواقفه الجريئة ضد العنصرية، مما أثَّر بعمق على مالكوم الشاب.
ترعرع مالكوم في بيئة مليئة بالتمييز العرقي والفقر. بعد حياة مليئة بالمصاعب، انتهى به الحال في السجن حيث تحول تفكيره جذريًا. خلال فترة سجنه، تأثر بأفكار (أمة الإسلام) وغيَّر اسمه إلى مالكوم إكس، متخليًا عن اسم عائلته الذي رآه مرتبطًا بتراث العبودية.
بعد خروجه من السجن، أصبح مالكوم إكس وجهًا بارزًا في الحركة الحقوقية، داعيًا إلى حقوق السود واستقلالهم بفصاحة وقوة لا مثيل لها. كانت خطبه حماسية ومؤثرة، تثير الجماهير وتدفعهم للتحرك.
لكن، كانت هناك جوانب مثيرة للجدل في شخصيته، حيث تبنى في البداية مواقف متشددة تجاه العرق الأبيض، مما جعله يدخل في صراعات عديدة مع قادة آخرين في الحركة الحقوقية. لكن مع مرور الوقت وتغير الظروف، تطورت أفكاره وأصبح يدعو إلى التفاهم والتعاون بين الأعراق المختلفة.
في عام 1965، أُغتِيلَ مالكوم إكس بينما كان يستعد لإلقاء خطاب. ورغم وفاته المبكرة، ترك وراءه إرثًا كبيرًا وأثرًا عميقًا على النضال من أجل المساواة والعدالة.

Malcolm X, one of the most pivotal figures in the American Civil Rights Movement, was born as Malcolm Little in 1925. His father, a civil rights activist, was killed due to his outspoken stance against racism, profoundly impacting young Malcolm.
Raised in an environment filled with racial discrimination and poverty, Malcolm’s early life was a series of hardships. Eventually, he found himself in prison where his worldview underwent a dramatic transformation. During his imprisonment, he was introduced to the teachings of the Nation of Islam and changed his name to Malcolm X, shedding his “slave name” in the process.
Upon his release, Malcolm X became a dynamic and influential leader in the civil rights movement, advocating for black empowerment and independence with unmatched eloquence and force. His speeches were fiery and inspirational, moving crowds and sparking action.
However, Malcolm X’s journey was not without controversy. Early in his career, he held rigid views towards white people, which often put him at odds with other civil rights leaders. Over time, his beliefs evolved, and he began to call for understanding and collaboration between races.
In 1965, Malcolm X was assassinated while preparing to deliver a speech. Despite his untimely death, his legacy endures, leaving a lasting impact on the fight for equality and justice.
