في حادث مروع هزّ جنوب كاليفورنيا، تحطمت طائرة صغيرة على سطح مصنع أثاث مزدحم، مما أسفر عن مقتل شخصين وإصابة 19 آخرين. وقع الحادث بعد أقل من دقيقتين من إقلاع الطائرة من مطار فوليرتون البلدي، حيث كانت الطائرة من طراز “فانز آر في-10” ذات المحرك الواحد وأربعة مقاعد.
كانت الطائرة قد أقلعت بشكل طبيعي، لكن بعد لحظات قليلة، أبلغ الطيار برج المراقبة بنيته العودة للهبوط اضطراريًا. لم يكن هناك وقت كافٍ لتنفيذ الهبوط، حيث انحرفت الطائرة بشكل مفاجئ واصطدمت بسقف مصنع “مايكل نيكولاس ديزاينز” للأثاث.
أظهرت لقطات كاميرات المراقبة الطائرة وهي تميل على أحد جوانبها قبل أن تصطدم بالمبنى، مما تسبب بانفجار وحريق تصاعد منه دخان أسود كثيف. كان المصنع يعمل به نحو 200 شخص أثناء الحادث، مما زاد من حجم الكارثة.
تدخلت فرق الإطفاء والشرطة فور وقوع الحادث للسيطرة على الحريق وإخلاء المصنع والمنشآت المجاورة. تم نقل 11 من المصابين إلى المستشفيات لتلقي العلاج، في حين تلقى ثمانية آخرون الإسعافات الأولية في الموقع وغادروا.
لا تزال التحقيقات جارية لمعرفة سبب الحادث، حيث أكد مجلس سلامة النقل الوطني فتح تحقيق شامل. في بيان عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، وصفت مدينة فوليرتون الحادث بأنه “مأساة مؤلمة”، معبرة عن تضامنها مع الضحايا وعائلاتهم.
Plane Crash in California: A Tragic Skyfall
In a harrowing incident that shook Southern California, a small plane crashed onto the roof of a bustling furniture factory, killing two people and injuring 19 others. The crash occurred less than two minutes after the plane took off from Fullerton Municipal Airport. The aircraft, a single-engine, four-seater Van’s RV-10, had just begun its journey when disaster struck.
Shortly after takeoff, the pilot reported to the control tower his intention to return for an emergency landing. However, there was not enough time to execute the landing as the plane suddenly veered off course and collided with the roof of Michael Nicholas Designs furniture factory.
Surveillance footage captured the plane tilting to one side before crashing into the building, causing an explosion and a thick plume of black smoke. The factory was bustling with around 200 workers at the time of the crash, amplifying the scale of the tragedy.
Firefighters and police teams swiftly responded to the scene, working to control the blaze and evacuate the factory and nearby establishments. Eleven of the injured were transported to hospitals for treatment, while eight others received first aid on-site and were released.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, with the National Transportation Safety Board launching a comprehensive inquiry. In a statement on social media, the city of Fullerton described the incident as a “heartbreaking tragedy,” expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.
