بونجال: احتفال الشمس والأرض بوفرة! 🌞🌾
يعد بونجال أحد أقدم وأشهر المهرجانات في جنوب الهند، يحتفل به الهندوس بفرح وحماس شديدين. يحتفل بونجال في منتصف يناير، ويستمر لأربعة أيام مليئة بالألوان والفرح.
أصل التسمية: تعني كلمة “بونجال” في التاميلية “الغليان”، وهي تعبر عن الحصاد والفائض. يُحتفل ببونجال للاحتفاء بالحصاد الجيد وشكر الشمس والأرض على العطاء الوفير.
الطقوس:
بوغي بونجال: يبدأ اليوم الأول بتنظيف المنازل وإحراق الأشياء القديمة، للتخلص من السلبيات واستقبال السنة الجديدة بنقاء.
تاي بونجال: اليوم الثاني هو الأهم، حيث يتم طهي أرز بونجال باستخدام حليب طازج وسكر وأرز وتوابل. يتم تقديم الطعام للإلهة الشمس في مشهد مهيب.
ماتّو بونجال: اليوم الثالث مخصص لتكريم البقر، حيث يتم تزيينها بالورود وتقديمها طعام مميز، تعبيرًا عن الامتنان لدورها في الزراعة.
كانوم بونجال: اليوم الأخير مخصص للزيارات العائلية والاجتماعية، وتبادل الهدايا والطعام التقليدي.

Pongal is one of the oldest and most celebrated festivals in South India, observed by Hindus with immense joy and enthusiasm. It takes place in mid-January and lasts for four days filled with colors and festivity.
Name Origin: The term “Pongal” in Tamil means “to boil,” symbolizing abundance and harvest. Pongal is celebrated to honor a good harvest and to thank the sun and the earth for their bounty.
Rituals:
Bhogi Pongal: The first day begins with cleaning homes and burning old items to get rid of negativity and welcome the new year with purity.
Thai Pongal: The second day is the most significant, with the preparation of Pongal rice using fresh milk, sugar, rice, and spices. The food is offered to the Sun God in a grand ceremony.
Mattu Pongal: The third day is dedicated to honoring cattle, decorating them with flowers, and offering them special food, expressing gratitude for their role in agriculture.
Kanum Pongal: The final day is for family and social gatherings, exchanging gifts, and sharing traditional food.
