Imagine waking up in the morning and finding a strange animal in your garden, an animal you’ve never seen before! Have you ever wondered how it rains animals like frogs from the sky? It sounds like something out of a science fiction story, but it’s real! This phenomenon is known as “animal rain.” It happens when a tornado or powerful storm sweeps over a body of water, and strong winds pick up small creatures like frogs and fish, carrying them into the sky where they later fall with the rain. It’s a very rare sight, but it has amazed and intrigued people in many places around the world.
There’s even a town in Honduras called Yoro that celebrates a “Rain of Fish” festival every year, where it’s claimed that fish fall from the sky after a strong storm. No one knows exactly how it happens, but it certainly leaves plenty of room for the imagination to wander and ponder.
