كان هناك وحش شرير يُدعى “نيان” يهاجم القرى في أول يوم من السنة الجديدة. ليحمي الناس أنفسهم، اكتشفوا أن الوحش يخاف من اللون الأحمر والأصوات العالية. ومن هنا جاءت تقاليد الفوانيس الحمراء والألعاب النارية.
يستمر الاحتفال لمدة 15 يومًا، بدءًا من اليوم الأول من العام القمري وصولًا إلى مهرجان الفوانيس. كل يوم يحمل معانيه وتقاليده الخاصة مثل اجتماع العائلة، تقديم العطايا، وتناول الطعام التقليدي.

The celebration spans 15 days, starting from the first day of the lunar new year and culminating in the Lantern Festival. Each day holds its own special customs, such as family reunions, gift-giving, and feasting on traditional foods.
One of the beautiful rituals is cleaning the house thoroughly to sweep away bad luck, and decorating it with flowers and red lanterns to invite good fortune.
