الإسراء والمعراج حدث عظيم في التاريخ الإسلامي يروي رحلة النبي محمد ﷺ الليلية من مكة إلى القدس ثم صعوده إلى السماوات العلى. تبدأ الرحلة بالإسراء عندما جاء جبريل عليه السلام إلى النبي، ورافقه على البراق، دابة بيضاء تفيض سرعةً وجمالًا، إلى المسجد الأقصى في القدس. وبعد صلاة النبي في الأقصى، بدأت الرحلة الثانية: المعراج.
في هذه الرحلة السماوية، صعد النبي عبر السماوات السبع، ولاقى عددًا من الأنبياء. في كل سماء، كان هناك استقبالٌ من نبيٍ مكرم، من بينهم إبراهيم، موسى، وعيسى عليهم السلام. كما رأى النبي جنة الفردوس والنار، وأُعطيت له تفاصيل عن الجنة وعقوبات العصاة.
واحدة من أهم النقاط التي تميز الإسراء والمعراج هي فرض الصلاة. في هذه الليلة، فرضت الصلاة على المسلمين خمسين صلاة في اليوم، ثم تم تخفيفها إلى خمس صلوات فقط بعد مشورة النبي موسى عليه السلام للنبي محمد ﷺ.
الإسراء والمعراج ليس مجرد قصة تاريخية، بل هو مصدر إلهام وإيمان عميق للمسلمين في جميع أنحاء العالم. يُعبر عن قدرة الله عز وجل وعنايته بنبيه وخيرته من خلقه.

The Night Journey and Ascension (Isra and Mi’raj) is a monumental event in Islamic history, narrating Prophet Muhammad’s miraculous night journey from Mecca to Jerusalem, followed by his ascension to the heavens. The journey begins with the Isra, when the angel Gabriel came to the Prophet and accompanied him on Al-Buraq, a white steed that exudes speed and beauty, to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. After praying at Al-Aqsa, the second part of the journey, the Mi’raj, commenced.
During this celestial ascent, the Prophet traversed the seven heavens, meeting various prophets. At each level, he was greeted by a venerable prophet, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. The Prophet also witnessed Paradise and Hellfire, and was given detailed descriptions of the rewards of the righteous and the punishments of the disobedient.
One of the key highlights of Isra and Mi’raj is the prescription of prayer. On this night, prayer was initially prescribed as fifty times a day, but was eventually reduced to five times a day after Prophet Muhammad consulted Prophet Moses.
Isra and Mi’raj is not just a historical narrative, but a source of profound inspiration and faith for Muslims worldwide. It underscores Allah’s power and His divine care for His chosen Prophet.
